Seattle – Chinese Lunar New Year Celebrations

Chinese New Year or the Lunar New Year is just not celebrated in China, but is also celebrated in other parts of the world, especially where there is a large Chinese Community.

In 2017, Chinese New Year will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2017.

Chinese New Year in a big event in Seattle. In fact Chinatown-ID is the only neighborhood in America where Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Vietnamese and Southeast Asians live and work together, side-by-side.

Here the Lunar New Year Celebrations include Vietnamese dragon dances, Japanese Taiko drumming, Filipino drill team, martial artists, paper lanterns, costume contest parade and firecrackers.

Every year, the Lieu Quan Lion Dance Team celebrates the Lunar New Year and mark the start and the close of the festival.

Seattle – Chinese Lunar New Year

The Wing Luke Museum and The Chinatown International District Business Improvement Area will organize a traditional Lion Dance to kick off the Year of the Horse.
