Red Crab Drop in Easton on New Year’s Eve

“Red Crab Drop” is the annual celebration on New Year’s Eve taking place in Easton, Pennsylvania.

This New Year’s Eve Event is similar to the one that takes place at New York Times Square where a Crystal Ball is dropped at midnight, however here a red crab is lowered to ring in the new year.

In this event, a 6-foot paper mache crab is lowered down a pole two times – once at 9 pm and other at midnight. On both the occasions, the crab drops is accompanied by a parade of sea creatures.

The Crab Drop in Easton is part of First Night Talbot, which is a family night event filled with art and entertainment, including a mime, magicians and musical acts in venues throughout the downtown area.

Apart from this there will be a massive display of fireworks taking place there.
