Great Wall of China – New Year Fireworks 2017

Just like many other parts in the world, people of China also celebrate Gregorian New Year on 1st January however the celebrations are grand for the Chinese Lunar New Year with generally takes place in February.

In earlier times, there were no major fireworks display on the the occasion of New Year’s Eve, but in recent years there have been new year fireworks in Beijing and other big cities of China.

When we talk of China, one thing that comes to our mind is the Great Wall of China. It was built over 2,000 years ago, by Qin Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of China during the Qin (Ch’in) Dynasty (221 B.C – 206 B.C.).

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications which wind up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 8,851.8 kilometers (5,500 miles) from east to west of China.

In last few years, portions of this Great World Heritage site have been used as a part of New Year Celebrations.

In the capital city of Beijing, the Badaling section of the Great Wall is generally lit up with lights and lasers to welcome the new year.

Apart from this, on the occasion of the New Year, Chinese President deliverers his new year speech via China Radio International, China National Radio and China Central Television.

Expect the same this year also.
