Beijing – China New Year Fireworks 2017

Just like many other parts in the world, people of China also celebrate Gregorian New Year on 1st January however the celebrations are grand for the Chinese Lunar New Year with generally takes place in February.

Normally there are no major fireworks display on the the occasion of New Year’s Eve on 31st December in Beijing.

There will be some celebrations in western establishments such as bars and restaurants.

However, there will be some New Year Fireworks display within Ring Road 5 as except that in most of the other parts of the city it is illegal to use fireworks except for the 2 weeks of the Chinese new year.

Last year was the first time that Beijing has a New Year’s Countdown which had light projected on the Temple of Heaven.

Apart from this, on the occasion of the New Year, Chinese President deliveres his new year speech via China Radio International, China National Radio and China Central Television.

Expect the same this year also.
